The Artist Voice residency has just begun!
MC Laffitte and patsy will be spending the time of their residency to develop new work to perform at Tramway’s Dance International Glasgow Festival this May alongside South African artist Thulisile Binda.
For this residency we have partnered with Dancebase and The Work Room who have provided in-kind studio space for the artists’ development time leading up to their performance in May.
Find out more about the 2 artists below.
MC Laffitte
patsy
patsy is a multidisciplinary artist and creative entrepreneur based in Glasgow, Scotland. Rooted in her Cameroonian and Congolese heritage, she weaves storytelling, culture, and social impact into everything she does. From founding BAMILEK, a concept store connecting the African Diaspora, to capturing moments through photography, film, and dance, patsy is driven by a passion for community and cultural exchange. Her work spans mediums, but her mission remains constant: to empower, inspire, and celebrate heritage. Whether through teaching, collaborating, or creating, patsy is here to tell stories that resonate and spark meaningful connections.
For this residency, patsy will develop a piece called Anna: between calm + chaos.
MC Laffitte
MC is a French-Cameroonian dancer who started her dance journey in Scotland eight years ago, connecting with the Hip-Hop community and joining the dance companies PinkAcid, AKO and THREE60. MC has been mentored by THREE60 directors, most specifically by Divine Tasinda who has expanded her knowledge of HIp-Hop and African diasporic dance styles. In her practice, MC uses movement to express herself, find a sense of freedom and connect with the people surrounding her.
For this residency, she will dedicate her time developing a piece centered around the theme of infinity.
